Susan Karol Martel, Ed.M. - Advocating affordable mental health care for all.

Susan's writing credits include co-authoring The Fourth Trimester: On Becoming A Mother, endorsed by pediatrician T. Berry Brazelton, M.D. and featured in a Jane Brody New York Times column. Since its publication, the term fourth trimester, designating the first three months after a baby’s birth, has become part of mainstream and medical terminology.

Her column, "The Therapist Is In" appeared inThe Northwest Independent and The Germantown News. These columns are among the materials she will be including in Navigating The Therapy Maze: One Hundred Questions and Answers gleaned from the questions she's been asked most in her over thirty five years of practice.
Among her past columns are “The Practical Parent” and a cartoon series “What About the String Beans? (and other parenting challenges)” for Parenting Magazine of the Delaware Valley.  She was one of the lead columnists for The Metro when it originated in Philadelphia.

Having written short stories and plays, Susan is currently working on a series of parenting primers From Diapers Through Dating and completing her first adult novel.
